Cambridge Times Article: "Students sink teeth into oral health"
Lucas did not hide his excitement as he squished his hand into a mold at RiteBite Orthodontics on Thursday.
Two groups of 35 Grade 2 students from Highland Public School participated in activities to learn the importance of oral health, and some of the science used in dentistry and orthodontics.
“We want to get kids involved in their oral health,” said Jennifer Stretch, a dental hygienist who helped run the activities.
The children got to make hand molds, bend wires used for braces, learn to floss and brush teeth properly using model teeth, and learn about X-rays.Stretch said RiteBite, is trying to be a very innovative practice. Other schools will take part in the program at a later date.
